College Counseling

The College Counseling Program at Pilgrim School offers students and parents with a wide range of college counseling services. In our role as college counselors, we provide information to students on colleges and universities, scholarships, and financial aid; conduct workshops on essay writing and test preparation; and coordinate tours of colleges. Our counselors provide special attention to each college-bound student throughout the college application process.

Our philosophy and aim is to encourage every student to pursue his or her passion, beginning in middle school. If students have a love for the performing and fine arts, an interest in a specific pre-professional career, or academic subject, we work with them to find schools that match their preferences. We advise them to become involved in community service, student government, and extra-curricular activities to enrich their overall educational experience in preparation for college. A comprehensive College Planning Handbook, as well as an up-to-date college counseling webpage, is available to all high school students.

Due to our commitment to a solid college preparatory program, our students have received numerous awards recognizing their academic achievement and community service. Students have been recipients of the National Merit Scholarship, Bank of America California Achievement Award, Prudential Community Service Award, Radio Tandy Scholars Award and National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution Honor.

In 2002, graduating seniors received admission to some of the most selective 4-year private and public institutions across the country, including: Stanford, U.C. Berkeley, UCLA, USC, Rice, Howard, and Boston University.
