Rules for Physical Education
Dress Code
- Students in grades 5th through 10th must change into their PE uniform daily.
- Students are assigned gym lockers.
- Uniform consists of a White Pilgrim t-shirt and navy Pilgrim shorts with athletic shoes. (no boots or slip-ons)
- Socks-White and Sweats- Solid navy, white, or red sweat pants and sweatshirt.
- Students must mark their PE uniform shirt and shorts with a permanent black marking pen.
Dress Rules
- Students will lose points every time they are missing a piece of their full PE uniform.
- Proper footwear is essential for the safety of our students. Therefore, if your child fails to wear tennis shoes to P.E. class, they will not be allowed to participate for the day.
- Students may be excused from dress and or participation from class with a note from parent or guardian.
- PE uniforms are kept in lockers.
- Uniforms are taken home to wash on Fridays.
- Rainy Days: All students will be required to dress and participate in special indoor activities, or report to assigned rooms for P.E. instruction.
Locks and Lockers
- Each student will be issued an assigned locker.
- Your child will be responsible for his/her lock throughout the school year.
- The Physical Education Office will keep a record on file of each student's lock, locker and serial number.
- For security reasons, students should not share a locker or combination of locks with other students.
- Shower facilities are available if students wish to use them.
- Recommended for students to keep in their locker:
- Towel
- Deodorant
- Comb and or brush
Grading Procedures
Students are graded in the following areas:
- Attendance
- Proper Dress
- Participation
- Cooperation / Sportsmanship / Effort
- Evaluation of knowledge (skill tests, written tests)
- Fitness Exam (Fitnessgram)
