Visiting Artists and Writers
Pilgrim School’s Visiting Writers and Artists Program is an integral part of a Pilgrim education starting in Kindergarten. Our students have the unique opportunity to interact with and learn from some of the most well-respected writers and artists in the country. In addition, twice a year, we invite a nationally prominent writer to come to Pilgrim for an open event free to the general public. In Fall 2011, we welcomed Lisa See, author of Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, Peony in Love, On Gold Mountain, Shanghai Girls, and Dreams of Joy. In Spring 2012, we will present Erik Larson, author of Devil in the White City, Isaac’s Storm, Thunderstruck, and his latest In the Garden of Beasts. Cultural literacy is an important element of our educational approach and our students are introduced to the best of the current and the classic in art and literature.
