2020-2021 Welcome Letter

Dear Pilgrim Community,

We can all agree that the 2020-21 school year is one that none of us will forget. Beginning a new school year remotely, re-imagining beloved events like Pilgrim Night Out and Cafe Barnum to be online, and creating new and fun ways to connect as a community while distanced made all of us expand our own roles and work collaboratively to ensure our students and families still had the Pilgrim experience we all love so much. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our teachers, staff, and parents, Pilgrim came together and created a distanced-learning environment that centered around our students until we were able to come together again on campus in the Spring. Our success this year would not have been possible without the support of our entire community, and we thank you sincerely for the part each and every one of you played.

The incredible generosity of our donors was also essential for Pilgrim’s success during the constantly changing and challenging climate of 2020. Beginning in the summer, we launched an Emergency Fund to provide vital funds for our tuition assistance program, giving many families affected by the pandemic the support they needed to remain a part of our community. Our annual gala, which typically takes place in the spring, was moved to the fall and generated over $100,000 for our tuition assistance program. The Pilgrim Fund, which directly supports our operating budget, exceeded our initial goal by $200,000. Constantly changing restrictions, protocols, and regulations made these funds more important than ever, and the generosity of our community made navigating this ever-changing time possible.

While the times of quick pivots and new guidelines are certainly not behind us, we look to this new school year with knowledge and determination, thanks to the support we receive every day from our community.
