Kim West is a visual artist living and working in downtown LA, whose painting practice includes mural and installation projects. Most well known for her murals in DTLA, West’s work engages with memory – creating fractured realities that bridge gaps and pin down wisps of ether. The NY Times has called West’s work “dreamlike.” Following studies in painting and printmaking at Smith College and Amherst College, West graduated from the painting department at the Rhode Island School of Design. Her work is exhibited nationally, and is collected and commissioned by everyday people, art collectors, celebrities, corporations, and educational institutions. West’s mural work can be found throughout Los Angeles (West Hollywood City Hall, LAX), as well as in countless films, television shows, commercials, music videos. Ms. West will be working with the 1st graders on creating a joyful forest of color.
