Calendar & Important Dates

Early Education Daily Schedule

We have a flexible daily schedule because the children take the lead regarding how long an activity lasts. It is not uncommon for children deeply involved in a learning process to work through the next activity block. At Pilgrim School, we respect children’s engagement and change activities only at obvious transitions or for special events. We do, however, create a flow to our day so that children can predict what comes next. We teach children to be flexible by narrating our daily schedule in real time; in this way, children know what is coming and they can transition to and from new activities with ease and confidence.

Sample Daily Schedule:
7:30 a.m. - Arrival Begins
9:00 a.m. - Morning Meeting & Welcomes
9:15 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. - Small Group Activities, Indoor/Outdoor Play, or Specialist Classes
Snack offered between 10-10:45 a.m.
12:00 – 12:30 p.m. Lunch
12:30 p.m. -  Inside Nap and/or Quiet Time Activities (reading, drawing, coloring)
2:30 p.m. - Afternoon Snack and Indoor/Outdoor Activities and Centers

These forms need to be completed by June 1, 2026. All documents should be submitted to Sonia Rodriguez, Director of Early Education and Elementary Programs (srodriguez@pilgrim-school.org). You can also access these forms in Compass.

What to Expect Next

We know the transition to a new school can bring up a lot of questions. To help you feel settled before the first day, here is a roadmap of what the coming months will look like.

June

June is a season of reflection and celebration—from the quiet pride of watching our youngest learners master new skills to the high-energy excitement of honoring the Class of 2026. As our seniors prepare to head off to the nation’s top universities, we are reminded that their journey started exactly where yours is beginning. We hope you are enjoying these final weeks of milestones and memories within your current school community, and we can't wait to help your child start their own path to success here at Pilgrim.

Camp Panthers

The first day of Early Education contracts is August 3. Want to get started at Pilgrim early? Join our summer program which runs from June 22 - July 31.

July

Enjoy the summer break! Our office will be quieter during this time, but we are still here if you have any questions. You will gain access to Magnus, our health records system. This is a great time to start completing health forms.

August

We will send out a "Back-to-School" email in August with schedules, teacher assignments, and more. We’ll shift into gear with orientations and social events to help students (and parents!) feel right at home before the first day.

Dress Code & Uniforms

Early Education students do not wear a uniform. Clothes worn by students often get dirty; mainly due to various activities they participate in during the school day. All interactions with things and people are considered part of the children’s learning process; it is important for them to be able to flow from one activity to another, concentrating not on whether they get dirty but rather on what they discover during these various activities. As we encourage enthusiastic, hands on experience, we do not offer aprons or paint shirts. All paint used at Pilgrim is water based and washable.

Because children are sensory learners, we do allow them to be barefoot inside the classroom and outside on the Early Education yard. If you prefer your child have shoes on at all times, please inform your teachers of this preference.

Snack and Lunch

Food Allergies

The Early Education facility is nut-free. Due to food allergies and for hygiene reasons, children are not allowed to share foods. If your child suffers from any type of allergy you will complete the "Allergy Alert" form which will be shared over the summer.

Hot Lunch

We work with Hero Eats for our hot lunch program. You may purchase lunch from Hero Eats on a daily basis. In August, you will receive log-in information for the Hero Eats website through which you will place your orders. If you have specific questions about the lunches, you can contact Hero Eats admin@heroeats.co

Snacks

We provide a morning and afternoon snack for early education students. You may also send a snack with your child if you prefer.
