Why Give?

Pilgrim School relies on charitable contributions from families, alumni, friends, and foundations in order to provide the essential elements of a top-quality education. Each year, we ask our community to place Pilgrim as a top philanthropic priority by supporting the Pilgrim Fund, attending fundraising events, and supporting the community through volunteerism.

How Can I Give to Pilgrim?

The Pilgrim Fund

At Pilgrim, we are proud to provide a robust and inclusive education, while keeping our tuition fees as low as possible to maintain our socio-economic diversity. Because of this, tuition alone is not able to cover the entirety of the school’s operating budget, leaving a significant budgetary gap.
The Pilgrim Fund was established to help us bridge that gap. By supporting the Pilgrim Fund, you support every aspect of education, such as:
  • Classroom improvements
  • Financial aid for families in need
  • Seed money for new programs and activities
  • Competitive salaries and robust professional development for faculty and staff
Donations to the Pilgrim Fund are 100% tax-deductible, and help to strengthen the future of this school. Our goal is to have 100% of our Board, faculty and staff, and families to participate in the Pilgrim Fund as well as to increase our alumni and grandparent participation every year in support of our school.

We hope you will consider contributing to the Pilgrim Fund this year!

Pilgrim Night Out

Every spring, the Pilgrim community gathers for a special fundraiser to celebrate the school year and our extraordinary community. This beloved event provides funding for financial aid for the following school year. It is always a fun-filled evening, as we join together to eat, drink, bid on wonderful auction items, and spend quality time together as a community!

Last year, we opted to have a virtual Pilgrim Night In event so that all our families could stay safe and still enjoy this wonderful opportunity to celebrate our community. This year, we hope to see you in person for an evening of fun on Saturday, April 30, 2022!

  • Estate Giving

For many people, the best way to make a significant donation to charity is through their estate. With planning and foresight, a legacy gift can assure that the Pilgrim School mission is carried into the future. There are also tax benefits.

One method of supporting Pilgrim is through a planned gift, or a bequest. Making a bequest is as simple as inserting a few sentences into you will, such as, “I give $_________ to Pilgrim School of Los Angeles, CA” or “I bequeath __% of my estate to Pilgrim School of Los Angeles, CA.” The school can also be a beneficiary of a life insurance policy or an IRA. Bequests can be earmarked for the endowment, or directed to any area of the school.

If you are interested in learning more about bequests, please contact Nari Kye, Director of Advancement, at nkye@pilgrim-school.org or 213.355.5208. All conversations are confidential.
